» The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Wildlife Trail update
On May 18 2003, a two mile trail bordering High Point State Park and the
Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area was constructed at High Point Farm.
The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Wildlife Trail was built by Fountain House members and
staff, community volunteers, Eagle Scout candidate Stephen Kovalcik and members
of BSA Troop No 74 from Clifton, New Jersey. This collaborative effort was made
possible by the generosity of The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation, established
in 2000 as a continuing legacy for 9 year old Danny who had Autism Spectrum
Disorder.
High Point Farm and Fountain House value their partnership with The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation. Working together, we continue to make headway on our shared mission of providing people often stigmatized by their neurological challenges with opportunities that both honor their abilities, gifts and individuality as well as provide active engagement in community life.
On April 30 2008 Linda Walder Fiddle, Esq. Executive Director of The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation presented a check to Steven Pike Manager of High Point Farm at Fountain House in Manhattan. This generous amount will enable the restoration and development of the Fiddle Trail.
High Point Farm looks forward to working alongside the Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation to develop the trail so that it can be used to enhance the lives of many people. Groups will be invited to attend and participate in the development of the trail beginning in June.
